Newly (in 2007) established event, where traditional Czech potato salad (basically a variant of Russian salad) contest takes place every year. This activity is newly introduced, however, it follows the tradition of a typical Czech Christmas dish according to traditional recipes.

Environmental criterion The contest and its side events (such as traditional Christmas fair) is an inherent part of the village Advent time and as such it contributes to local cohesion.
Cultural-historical criterion Every first Saturday of Advent there is a special potato salad festival held in the village of Mratín. This activity is newly introduced, however it follows the tradition of a typical Czech Christmas dish according to traditional recipes. The event is presented as a competition of potato salad recipes performed by teams of cooks. The basic preparation of the dish respects the traditional ingredients and methods, however, every year participants enrich the performed recipes with new ingredients such as beetroot, quail eggs or garlic sprouts.
